4 Arms Caliper Tool
The 4CAL tool is a high-resolution 4 arm caliper designed for detailed borehole diameter and shape measurement in open-hole environments. With four independently articulated arms, 4CAL provides accurate and consistent measurements of borehole geometry, rugosity, washouts, keyseats, and deformation along the wellbore.
Applications
- Measuring the actual borehole diameter and its variations with depth
- Identifying washouts, breakouts, and keyseats in open-hole sections
- Evaluating wellbore stability and drilling quality
- Improving the interpretation accuracy of other logs (Density, Neutron, Sonic, Resistivity)
- Supporting accurate mud and cement volume calculations
- Assessing hole conditions prior to logging or completion operations
- Assisting in completion and perforation planning
- Detecting problematic intervals for cementing or remedial operations
Features & Benefits
- Four independently articulated caliper arms for accurate borehole geometry measurement
- High-resolution diameter recording with continuous depth coverage
- Robust mechanical design suitable for harsh downhole conditions
- Compatible with full logging tool strings in open-hole operations
- Reliable centralization and stable contact with the borehole wall
